Do you do group walks or buddy hikes?
Our dog adventures are geared to small groups of 4 dogs or less. Often we will walk your dog individually or paired with our own dogs if appropriate.
Do you walk dogs off-leash?
Off-leash time is only available on request, if we have experience with the dog and have deemed them a candidate, and if they are wearing a GPS collar. We prioritize safety first and will assess your dog’s recall, responsiveness, and comfort level before approving off-leash outings. If conditions change, we leash up, no debate.
Do you accept puppies and senior dogs?
Yes. We tailor outings to age and ability: puppies often do best with shorter, structured adventures, while seniors benefit from gentler routes, slower pacing, and extra breaks. We will confirm what is appropriate during the meet-and-greet.
Can you feed my dog or do quick home check-ins?
Yes. We can add a quick home check-in for feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, and a little love. Just leave clear instructions in your profile, including amounts, routines, allergies, or message us ahead of time.
Will I get updates after the walk?
Yes. Through our app, you will receive a report card after each outing that includes photos, notes on energy level, behavior, bathroom breaks, and a route map of where we hiked.
How do I book, and how far in advance?
Book online or call us directly. We recommend 48 to 72 hours notice, and even earlier for weekends, holidays, and peak vacation periods.

What is your cancellation and reschedule policy?
Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations are charged as a full visit since our outings are one-on-one and capacity is limited. If weather makes conditions unsafe during your scheduled time, we will contact you to cancel, reschedule, or make other arrangements and you will not be charged.
Do you offer packages or memberships?
Yes. We offer pre-paid 10-packs and monthly subscriptions, which are great for consistent routines and priority scheduling during busy weeks.
How do payments work?
We collect a credit card in advance to keep on file in our secure payment system, and we charge at the conclusion of service. Cash is also accepted at the time of service. We also offer pre-paid 10-packs and monthly subscriptions.
What vaccines or preventatives do you require?
Rabies vaccination is required before service. In Summit County we also recommend DAP and Lepto because of all the stream-and-pond adventures, plus heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
What happens in an emergency?
We plan ahead for the unexpected by storing your emergency instructions in our system. If something happens, we will contact you immediately, follow your guidance, and get prompt veterinary care if needed.
Do I need to be concerned about wildlife?
Summit County is home to a variety of wildlife, and most encounters are uneventful. If we see wildlife, we keep a safe distance so it stays a calm moment, not a chase. In known moose corridors and higher-activity areas, we keep dogs leashed and choose routes with safety in mind.
How do you handle keys, entry, and home security?
We store entry details securely in our scheduling system, and access is limited to Mountain DAWGS owners and your Adventure Guide on the day of service. For returning clients, we can let ourselves in and out when you are not available and follow any special instructions.
